SVL is currently the Investment Manager for (i) Neev Fund (ii) Neev II (SME Fund) and (iii) SWAMIH Fund and Fund of Funds (SRI Fund, UKIDCF & TDCF). SVL is looking to onboard an associate to play a pivotal role in shaping SVL’s strategy going forward. The associate will also work closely with the SVL team across all initiatives of SVL. The associate will play a crucial role in scaling up SVL as it launches new funds and create SVL into a market leader in the PE/ VC industry.
Job Description - Strategy & Research
▪ Work closely with the top management team to set the vision and strategy for SVL
▪ Assist in executing the short-term and long-term strategy
▪ Conducting background research on thematic sectors including investors landscape mapping and reaching out to investors for fund raising of thematic funds
▪ Preparation, updation, review and finalization of fund documents related to thematic funds for SVL
▪ Support during due diligence evaluations in relation to thematic funds
▪ Scope the PE/ VC landscape, and identify potential collaboration opportunities for SVL
▪ Prepare regular sector research to keep apprised of updated trends and market news/information
▪ Co-ordinate with Stakeholders for technical inputs, clarifications & follow-ups to obtain timely clearance, approvals and resolve any matters as may be required
▪ Support in procurement/ appointment of external consultants/ advisors/ service providers for carrying out market study, legal and tax advisory and any other related work
Key requirements
• Between 4-6 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a strategy consulting role with a reputed organization

Background

NSIC Venture Capital Fund Ltd. (NVCFL), a wholly owned subsidiary of The National Small Industries Corporation, a Mini-Ratna Corporation of the Government of India under the MSME Ministry has setup a Fund of Funds (FoF) christened as Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund, as a Category II Alternate Investment Fund (AIF), for providing growth capital to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Subsequent to a competitive bid process,

SBI Ventures Limited (SVL) was selected as the Investment Manager to the SRI Fund. SRI Fund was registered with effect from September 1, 2021 as a Category II AIF with SEBI. SRI Fund has commenced operations in October 2021 and has already committed funds to multiple daughter funds.. In addition to the SRI Fund, SVL also manages the UK-India Development Cooperation Fund (UKIDCF) which is a fund of fund platform for the Government of UK. The SRI Fund and the UKIDCF are collectively known as “Funds Platform”. Other than the Funds Platform, SVL also team oversees two private equity funds Neev I and Neev II. In order to manage and administer the Fund Platform, SVL is looking to onboard an Analyst to assist the investment and fund administration team of the Funds Platform.
Required Profile

  • 2 to 4 years of work experience, experience in an investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, funds administration/accounting or related role would be preferred - Should have knowledge and understanding of the financial markets, strong accounting, finance, analytical/strategic thinking capabilities and quantitative skills - Understanding of transaction cycle and the steps in the investment process would be preferable. - Excellent written and spoken interpersonal communication skills - Experience in working on private equity IT platforms will be an added advantage - Self-directed, proactive, highly motivated, and able to work independently - Well-rounded academic background, CA or MBA
    Job responsibilities: Assistance in managing all aspects of a fund of fund transaction from
    i. initial screening up to closure,
    ii. preparation of investment collaterals,
    iii. deal documentation including discussions with external advisors,
    iv. evaluation of investment terms, investment related discussions and negotiations,
    v. running the due diligence process, ensuring compliance with the investment objectives & policies of the fund, and
    vi. take on any other roles and responsibilities as specified by the CIO.

  • Assistance in drafting of reporting formats, investment policies and procedures for implementation and management of FoF.

Background
Neev Funds, across Neev-1 and Neev-2 is INR 1,500 crores fund with a mandate to invest in climate change sectors. The Funds have invested in diverse sectors such as renewable energy, agri logistics, dairy, healthcare, education, waste management, green hydrogen, pollution control, water & sanitation, etc. The Neev Funds have taken a leadership position in the ESG investments space and is now recognised as a thought leader in impact investing.
The Neev Fund is managed by SBI Ventures Limited (“SVL”) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of India.
Based on the success of the Neev Funds 1 and 2, SVL is planning to launch the Neev 3 fund. The targeted corpus of the fund is expected to be INR 2,000 crores. The fund raise has seen strong progress with both domestic and global institutional investors expressing their keenness to participate. The team at SVL which is currently managing the Neev Funds has also expanded its mandate to other areas of business such as fund of funds (“FoF”) initiatives in the MSME space and managing & administering a fund platform for a global sovereign institutional investor. Job Description - Analyst:
i. Research
▪ Identifying and analysing sectors for investments
▪ Provide comprehensive research on industry, supply chain, competition, technological advancements, and regulatory environment for direct investments and similarly for FoF investment landscape
▪ Create and update research papers on investment theme of the Neev Fund and those of the FoF investments
▪ Prepare regular sector research to keep apprised of updated trends and market news/information across sectors of investment
ii. Investments and Transaction Execution
▪ Analyse investment opportunities for investment by the Neev Funds and FoF initiatives
▪ Creating financial model and conducting various financial analysis on investments
▪ Create sensitivity and valuation analysis using various valuation methodologies
▪ Supporting the investment team for the structuring and executing of transactions
▪ Assist and coordinate legal, tax, technical, integrity and financial due diligence for investments of the Fund, working closely with external advisers/ consultants

▪ Tracking and reporting of the transactions in the Fund’s area of investments
▪ Analyse M&A and fund raise opportunities (Equity, Debt, Structured Finance etc) at the portfolio companies across the Neev Funds.
▪ Support senior members in evaluating exit opportunities for the Fund from its portfolio companies
▪ Prepare and assist on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting documents for internal and regulatory compliances
iv. Investment Manager/Institutional requirements
