Neev Funds, across Neev I and Neev II is an INR 1,500 Cr. fund with a mandate to invest in climate and environment sectors. The Funds have invested in diverse sectors such as renewable energy, agri-logistics, dairy, healthcare, education, waste management, green hydrogen, pollution control, sustainable agriculture, water & sanitation, etc. The Neev Funds have taken a leadership position in the ESG investments space and is now recognised as a thought leader in impact investing. The Neev Fund is managed by SBI Ventures Limited (“SVL”) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of India. SVL has scaled from managing one fund with an AUM of c. INR 500 Cr. in 2018 to an AUM of c. INR 33,000 Cr. across 6 funds.
Opportunity
Title: Vice President
Reporting to: Principal
Location: Mumbai
Neev Fund is looking to onboard a Vice President (VP) to strengthen and lead the investments for the fund and shall work closely with the team across all initiatives of the Neev Fund team including any other initiatives of SVL as maybe required. The VP will play a crucial role in scaling up Neev Funds as we launch our successor funds and create SVL into a market leader in the PE/ VC industry.
As a key member of our senior team, we are confident that our VP will bring valuable insights and leadership to Neev Funds, further propelling our journey in climate change and impact investing.
Role of the VP
The VP will lead investments and manage portfolio companies towards growth path leading to successful exit outcomes. The selected candidate will be responsible for high quality deal-flow, due diligence, execution, portfolio management and exits. Candidate shall also contribute towards LP engagement and fund raising.
Job Description
Investments and Transaction Execution
•Source and analyse investment opportunities for investment
•Conducting thorough due diligence of the markets, company, promoters and management of potential investee companies
•Responsible for the structuring, negotiations and execution
•Preparation of investment memo, presentations and other materials as required
•Contribute to LP engagement including regular reporting and fundraising
•Manage pool of associates and analysts through behaviour modelling and mentoring to achieve Fund KPIs and to further develop team members
•Coordinate with portfolio companies to set, achieve, and report Impact and ESG targets
•Suggest improvements to our approach, process, products, and services
Key requirements
•Between 13-15 years’ experience with at least 7 years in growth capital/ PE investing with a preference for investment experience in climate & environment, infrastructure, clean-tech, impact/ SME investing
•Proven interest in solving complex issues/ situations
•Ability to create strong relationships with stakeholders; preferred existing network of peers and industry
•Strong investment track record; preference for experience through a full fund lifecycle
•Expertise in deal structuring, due diligence, and closing processes
•Proven ability to mentor and develop team members to their potential
•Preference for person with fundraising with institutional investors
